Executive Search Review, October/November 1998, p. 3 - ©1998 by Hunt-Scanlon Corporation - A recent survey conducted by Chapel Hill, NC-based Jones-Parker/Starr points to the increased importance that technology is having in the search process. Canvassing all sized retained U.S. firms, including the majority of the top 25, most respondents see technology as helpful in gathering information to provide candidate (81 percent) and sources (72 percent). Although 61 percent say that the Internet is being used for research, candidate yield from that source is low (2 percent). The survey also revealed that the use of video conferencing by search firms is on the rise; one-third of firms now use this technology.
